I am using Google Authenticator, scanned the QR code, then retrieved the six digit access code. On a DMR Transceiver TYT-MD380 or Motorola XPR7550e I go to Contacts, Manual Dial, Radio ID, and enter "9" then the six digit access code (waiting for it to refresh first), then key up.

AIR SECURITY
Do you want to protect your ID on the air from illegal use?
Air Security allows to make time - limited access using your ID
Air Security is optional, you can turn it on or off via Dashboard
At this moment Air Security can protect calls that go via master server only
Two options to activate an access session:
AIRSECURITY * TOTP ON THE AIR
How it works?
Based on Time - based One - time Password Algorithm (RFC 6238)
Dashboard creates unique secret only known to your TOTP app and BrandMeister
TOTP app generates unique passcode every 30 seconds
You should send this passcode to BrandMeister to open access session

Brandmeister Talk to Parrot on TG
Hello. As you know with Brandmeister, as
soon as someone PTT on a Talkgroup, the transmission becomes available
to all repeaters on all Brandmeister master servers. This is done
through the FastForward links between all the masters. If a Parrot
Talkgroup were to be created, this would have multiple negative effects,
the most important ones being: the audio tests would create unnecessary
traffic on the entire Brandmeister network, and only one person at a
time could use the Talkgroup because in BM all Talkgroups are
distributed worldwide.
This is why it makes more sense for the Parrot functionality to be a private contact; which is routed directly from the sender to the recipient.
With regards to the MD655, PD0ZRY has posted a screenshot showing how you can create an entry in your codeplug using a private contact instead of a Talkgroup, which will work for the Parrot functionality:
Let us know if you have further questions. Thanks!

HAM RADIO Identity Theft In DMR to Spread Abuses - Toronto CANADA
HAM RADIO Toronto Canada Identity Theft In DMR to Spread Hatred and Abuses.
This is the recent FRAUD and the horrendous abuses of a group of individuals who are ignorant and spreading their vengeance of hatred using identity theft of a call signs. Many may not appreciate this in ham radio, however we have to identify the cowards and the Jekyll and Hyde's among us.
The recent abuses are Text Messages - Broadcasted Globally (talkgroup global) over DMR using Stolen Spoofing CSS7 ID to spread hatred.
Question: can one group in Toronto Canada rain hatred on HAM RADIO? Shown within
arrrr :(Hi friend, Hope all is well. Just received this msg on DMR with your Name on it.See photos

Brandmeister Enhancements
FWD:
Good afternoon, everyone.
Good afternoon, everyone.
The past 36 hours have brought forth some great enhancements in the performance and operation of Master Server 3103, and refinements to 3102 and 3108.
The GPS reporting functionality is now operating perfectly, and the links for APRS Location posting have been fine tuned. If you have a BrandMeister supported GPS radio (Motorola, Hytera, etc) than all should be functioning perfectly now.
Getting the APRS connections refined and tuned has made it possible for APRS Messaging to be enabled across the BM USA Servers. 3102, 3103, and 3108 now all support "APRS Messaging from radio to phone, phone to radio, radio to radio, and phone to phone." We've tested it also with a number of things such as WxBot, and find it to perform much better than we expected. Check the BM Wiki for info on how to use it, if you are not already familiar.
The BrandMeister USA Shark RF IP Protocol Server is now fully tested and available from our high speed server farm in Chicago. We will be releasing more information on that in days to come, but we feel that it too is a fun facility and perhaps a valuable resource for many with the SharkRF openSPOT's who would like to implement a more private network of their own.
As we continue on with the standardization efforts, there may be some moments of "wonky" behavior on one or more US Based BrandMeister Servers. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience this may cause.
Support matters will not be addressed on Facebook as it is not a viable means for such. Please feel free to email the BrandMeister USA Team via dmr-admins@repeater.net, or as we prefer, Telegram BrandMeister Support groups.
In the near future, we will be releasing more information about new and upcoming features. However, I encourage you to contact you local repeater SysOp for assistance first. Let's not cut them out of the loop by going straight to Server and Network Administrators. I think you will find them a valuable resource with local knowledge of they systems and its best use.
Lastly, The Team has announced the availability of TG-3160 on any BrandMeister connected System. This talkgroup, the "BM USA" talkgroup, may be used to support Q&A, Testing and troubleshooting, and much more in the future. Current plans for a US Based BM Technical Support Net is being finalized and expected to be held on TG-3160 as well.
With that, I bid everyone a pleasant afternoon, and thank you for your patience and support. Please remember that all the folks working tirelessly with the BrandMeister USA Team are volunteers offering their expertise to us all from the kindness of their hearts.

DMR Brandmeister CCS7 | DMR USER REPEATER Registration
Callsign Communication System 7 - DMR USER REPEATER Registration
DMR Brandmeister | CCS7
CCS7 - what's that?
Explained :
"CCS" stands for "Callsign Communication System". It was developed several years ago as an optimized alternative to the G2 callsign routing system.
CCS routing may be initiated based on callsigns, but also based on a numeric ID which may easily be entered by DTMF.
Using DTMF codes very quickly became the most common way.
When the CCS-Code was introduced for DSTAR callsign routing, nobody expected that the acceptance would be as high as we see it today.
At the beginning many people brought up arguments like "we have callsigns in amateur radio and do not need numbers", "the current G2 callsign routing is good enough" etc..
However, the system was setup first in the German language area where the DCS reflector system grew very fast and became the leading system.
DCS and CCS are closely connected, the callsign routing system CCS uses the DCS reflector mechanism to connect repeaters together for callsign routing.
CCS Callsign Routing basically connects 2 repeaters transparent together through a virtual reflector.
The DTMF system uses 4-digit numeric codes which provides about 9,000 CCS-IDs.
Users and repeaters share the same address space.
Towards end of 2014 it became visible that this address space wont be large enough for future development.

Error when upload user image to my BrandMeister Profile account
I had previously successfully
uploaded an image, but when I attempt to upload a new image, nothing
happens after I select a an image to upload, then resize the image (or
not), and finally click Save. In fact, my old profile image disappeared.
I've tried on Windows 10 (Firefox and Chrome) and macOS Sierra (Firefox,
Chrome, and Safari).
Any suggestions for what I can try next?

Re: Change to BrandMeister Talkgroup 3100 being made June 1st
There seems to be a lot of confusion, as to the result of this change. This will be my attempt to explain what will happen when this change is made.
Right now, you may access Talkgroup 3100 by using a channel in your radio that is programmed for TG 3100. You may also access TG 3100 by connecting to Reflector 4639, as Reflector 4639 is linked to TG 3100.

BrandMeister How do static talkgroups work
How exactly do auto static talkgroups work and what is the purpose of them?
The automatic part is useful for sysops so they don't have to add it and remove it from the repeaters static talkgroups before the net starts and after it ends every week.

BrandMeister server PASSWORD
The DMR UK BrandMeister server was out of service yesterday.
I tried to link to other servers only to realise that didn't have the password required to log in.
I now understand that the UK and some other servers are different.
Is it possible to automatically put the required server password in.
If not can openSPOT remember passwords associated with each server.
This would make moving servers so much easier.

2 or 1 DMR ID ?
Owning both Motorola and Hytera Radios
I use radios of Hytera and Motorola. Would it be helpful for Selfcare to have two IDs?
If you are not using SMS and APRS reporting, then it doesn't really matter. But if you are, IMHO you have 2 options...

Happy Birthday BrandMeister - Latest BrandMeister News
Exactly one year ago, the domainname BrandMeister.Network. This is where it all started. The development of BM has already started somewhere in 2014 but one year ago, the first BrandMeister masters were up and running and the dashboard was launched.
Brandmeister 1st Birthday November 24th 2016
In meanwhile, the development has not gotten to a halt for a single day. The server software keeps getting updates every few weeks, new systems are being supported as fast as possible. The Dashboard was completely recoded and launched in Ham Radio Friedrichshafen 2015. It now offers a complete portal for selfcare, repeater management, master management and user management. Hoseline, which was initially developed by a community member, is now also an official part of BrandMeister. The BrandMeister wiki is now also available from wiki.brandmeister.network and received a new theme to fit with hoseline and the dashboard.
