BrandMeister How do static talkgroups work

How exactly do auto static talkgroups work and what is the purpose of them?

Automatic static talkgroups were created to make certain talkgroups static on a certain day of the week. For example, you country has a net that people can call in to every wednesday evening between 8 and 9pm on TG 2067 (for example in Belgium). Then the sysops of the repeaters that want to participate into this net on a weekly basis can configure this talkgroup to become 'static' between those times so their uses can hear the talkgroup without having to keep it active by pressing the PTT every 10 minutes.

The automatic part is useful for sysops so they don't have to add it and remove it from the repeaters static talkgroups before the net starts and after it ends every week.
