There seems to be a lot of confusion, as to the result of this change. This will be my attempt to explain what will happen when this change is made.
Right now, you may access Talkgroup 3100 by using a channel in your radio that is programmed for TG 3100. You may also access TG 3100 by connecting to Reflector 4639, as Reflector 4639 is linked to TG 3100.
On June 1st, Reflector 4639 will be unlinked from TG 3100, and linked to TG 91. Talkgroup 91 is the Worlwide Talkgroup.
If you currently access TG 3100 by a channel programmed for TG 3100, you will see no change.
If you currently access TG 3100 by connecting to Reflector 4639, you WILL see a change, in that instead of being on TG 3100, you will be on TG 91.

quick question.... What feature do you enable in MD380TOOLS that will allow you to receive on the MD380 without having to key up on the PTT key... So when I jump on 3100, I don't want to interrupt anyone by keying up to initiate incoming calls...
ReplyDeleteThanks

That is not a radio setting, but a Brandmeister setting. Your hotspot or repeater must set the TG as static in the BM settings to do what you want. Making 3100 static would be hard on a repeater imho.
DeleteKeying up activate talkgroup will not interrupt a conversation. Most DMR users know key ups during a conversation lets the traffic flow.. people keying to enter or keying to leave the talkgroup. I ignore keyups & acknowledge verbal callsigns. Once you install firmware go into Utilities, MD380Toolz - Showcalls = TA & DB. Date Format = TA. If using Hotspot only & no DMR repeaters turn Promiscuous = Enable
